Yet another year

Somebody once told me, the moment I turned 21, time will fly by really fast...

I have always wished that time could rewind and I'll never make all the stupid mistakes. But slowly, I'm trying to be positive and to move on and let my mistakes serve as a reminder to me.

So here's my resolutions for 2012.

1. GET THE DAMN DIPLOMA
2. Learn and master a new sport
3. Speak a third language FLUENTLY
4. LOSE WEIGHT

Been wanting to play Netball too and I wish I have enough friends to play with on a weekly basis. My brother still plays basketball for leisure every Friday AND Sunday with two different groups of friends. Unfortunately, I don't have enough friends to play a full game. If not, it'll be great to book a court for two hours in a particular day in the week and play just for leisure...

Included the 'lose weight' resolution back again because I've put on too much weight in just one year. It's getting out of hand.

I'm gonna graduate soon and I'm still at a lost what to do after. I think I know what kind of job I want, yet a small part of me wishes to go to University and live a student's life all over again but this time, in the right way and attitude.

It feels just like any other day to me. But as with tradition, I'll do a whole new set of resolutions again and reflect on the ones I made in 2011.

Old friends

Had a short gathering with the 2g girls a short while back and we had a great time chatting over dinner and desserts. It's always so much fun whenever we meet, even though it was just dinner plus desserts.

They will all graduate in prolly a year or two and I'm sure they'll find great jobs. A few of them are attached too and I feel really happy for all of them.

It's really amazing to look back. I remembered I liked Jay Chou because half of them loved his songs and would gather to listen to his songs on someone's Walkman. We used to sing along to his songs too.

I also met up with Ya recently, along with Xt for dinner.

Thought of the good food trips we organized during our upper secondary school days and it was always a lot of fun and laughter hanging out and talking to him.

Sadly, I find my memories of my secondary school days getting blurred and I'm so afraid to lose them because they are the only reminders of what was once a beautiful time in my life.

Trying to jot them down as I go along but I really cannot remember certain details.. Moreover, I have no wish to remember the last two years and I'm glad that it's fading for that part.

I was (and still am) very thankful to Xh, Nana and BFF during my repeated year because they always came to keep me company. They prolly didn't know how hard it was for me during the final year and how much I cried for the first few months... Till Lewis came along and spurred me on.

I wished I could turn back time but I know that I need to wake up and stop wishing for the impossible.

But this time, I wish that I have treated Lewis better. I wished I never said and done a single hurtful thing to him.

I'm trying to make amends but it will never erase my guilt. Every night, certain memories come back to haunt me repeatedly... It's driving me insane.

But I know I deserve to have to live with this.

PS. I bought the clutch and I love it so so so so so much!!! I wished it was a little bigger but I don't want to miss this like how I missed Rodeo Drive, which was a slightly bigger clutch compared to the Rossmore.

PSPS. Unfortunately, I kind of lost my love for my Damier Azur Hampstead and Monogram Idylle Romance in Sepia. In fact, I keep wanting to sell them away because I rarely use them at all... But I'll make a loss for sure and the thought of the money wasted makes my heart aches. :(

A fresh new start

So I finally exported a huge chunk of my older blog entries to a private blog... I want to forget the past and start all over again. I'm leaving my teenage years behind, learning from all my mistakes and trying to be a better person.

I wished I could turn back time... To when I was 15 and 18 and take away that two years I've wasted.

I can't express how thankful and grateful I am for Lewis has always been very supportive and encouraging. Though I get annoyed by him countless of times but at the end of the day, I tell myself how blessed I am to have him.

Amazing trip to Japan

Lewis and me went on a trip to Tokyo because we saw this pretty good deal online! We had such an enjoyable time there and we wished it could have been a longer trip so we could have went to Osaka and Mt Fuji as well!

I like this pair of spectacles because I'm getting lazy to apply make-up and it 'hides' my plain face.

Oh, and we flew SIA! There was this Japanese chief stewardess who was so nice and warm and friendly. Super impressed! She saw me trying to snap a picture with Lewis and immediately came to us, offering to take the picture of us! I certainly didn't expect that. :)

Ok sidetrack a little cos I need to talk about this super AWESOME ramen I had in Tokyo! Can't remember exactly where but I think it was near Omote-sando. I can't really remember the shop name too but it was just a small little shop by the street but it was really so so so good! I've been eating a lot more ramen in Singapore to find that exact taste but none of them came even close. Lewis agrees it's damn good too and he's a really picky food critic.

TWO SUPER AWESOME BOWL OF RAMEN. The soup and the chunks of meat were to-die-for. Every other day, Lewis and me will talk about this ramen cos it is just soooooooo good. I read it off the Lonely Planet guide which gave it pretty good reviews. Lewis and me had a hard time trying to find it though! Glad he persevered cos I was getting tired of trying to locate it!

This was also freaking delicious! It's Japanese Yakiniku. EVERY slice of meat was marinated so well! I'll definitely go back to eat this again!

Comes with desserts too! Oh and that's the name of the restaurant! (Omg, just googled and they have it here in Singapore as well!!! The restaurant's English name is Gyu-Kaku! So gonna go there soon!!!)

I LOVE this attraction! It's kind of like a ride, featuring Winnie the Pooh. Before the ride, they had these huge 'pages', telling a story!

They have Minnie's house and this is her dining table! Awww, so cute right!

I took tons of photos over there but I'm too lazy to upload them all. But we had a fantastic time there even though we couldn't get to try every ride and attraction due to the little time we had. Next time I'm gonna dedicate like at least three days, so I can go to Disneysea as well!

I can't wait to visit Japan again!

You know this is the 9th year that I've know Xt and we were classmates since secondary one but we were never ever close friends with each other till much later. I was closer to the Netballers, Nana, Xh or Pam and she'll be closer to them as well but just not with me.

Only during our upper secondary days then did we stuck with each other throughout... Even long till graduation. Even when everyone else have given up on me, she has always been around and there for me.

I love my best friend. Thank you.

Jovin's 21st

Spent a lot of effort trying to keep Jovin's birthday a secret and I'm glad it turned out to be a success. Many thanks to my wonderful friends for all their help too. It wouldn't have been possible without all of their help!

We thought of many ideas to trick her into coming down and Xt thought of a really good one. Hahahaha it was so funny.

The theme was retro geek I think. She thought she was going to Rebel but we played along cos we wanted her to dress up and look pretty for the camera! :)

It's amazing how long I've known Jovin. 14 years and counting. All the crazy things we did together, the times we cried over failed relationships and lousy ex-boyfriends, we've truly came a long way. ♥

What I've been up to lately

So life after not working has been quite bad initially but has gotten so much better!! I've been going out a lot more with my favourite people (Lewis, Xt and Kel) and we have been doing Lewis' favourite stuffs a lot. Which is LAN gaming!!! Hahahaha though Xt and me are quite annoyed at times cos we don't understand why the guys seem so happy shooting zombies. And I'm pretty hot-tempered so I get annoyed with myself too when I throw my temper at Lewis. :(

Other than that, I've been playing mahjong and the piano. And eating A LOT more than before. Hahahaha but I haven't felt so relaxed and happy for a long time.

Have been into a little baking recently too! Wanna learn to bake more of my favourite cakes, cookies and pastries!

Last Saturday, I attended a wake. My ex-classmate's dad passed away.... Just slightly before that, I was just reading all the depressing news about the Japan quake and thinking how fragile life is.

During the wake, Ling, Nana and Jy were also there. The rest came the night before... Talked about the times in secondary school. It was nice to talk to them, except for the setting. Just the month before and in the previous post, I was so happy to see so many of them again... I hate how life can change so drastically and I'm scared of what the future brings.

Huiying's 21st

Been too lazy to blog cos too much pictures to upload from my birthday and the Genting trip and can't remember what else.

So anyway, here's two pictures while going to Huiying's 21st chalet. It was nice seeing all of them again and they bring back lots of fond memories of my teenage years.

So here's a group photo though of cos there should be more people considering we're a class. As we grow older, it gets harder and harder to gather everyone together...

Had this blog when I was completing secondary 3... Kinda sad that I didn't started earlier because I'm afraid my memories of them would fade as I grow older. Like I didn't even remember Kangli and me used to call ourselves the 'Invincible Duo' until Liting reminded me and that someone reminded me as well that we had this Axis-Allied thingy in our class.

Certain things I'll always remember and never ever forget. Like how we were a 'family', with Xiaohua being my 'dad', Xt being my 'mum' (Yes, my BFF was my 'mum'!!!), Yanlin being my 'ah ma'... Vivian being the real 'ah ma', how we called Chewpeng a snail, the Great 4 shorties and blackies, how we 'bullied' Nana... How Alvin and Tkt would annoy me cos they sit behind me and how short Yingan was back then!

There were also the crazy water fights, them jumping into the school's fountain, all the supporting of each other at our various sports' matches throughout the years... Our sudden pool and mahjong craze... Going to pierce our ears, ankle-socks, dyed hair etc. How I cried with the netballers when we lost that match on that rainy day... How even when we argued, we were still really good friends at the end of the day. Even when they graduated, I remembered a bunch of them came to look for me during a match on my 17th birthday... All the presents they gave me throughout the years, I still keep them in this drawer. I'll never forget that special friendship I shared with them as a teen.

I guess the most amazing part was that, we weren't like any other class. We were all damn united and just no words can describe how I feel about them. I tried telling Lewis way back then and even showed him our class video but all he could say was, 'Just like any other class what' and I felt damn insulted and kept trying to tell him how different we were. They were friends that I've been through so many ups and downs with and friends that were always there for each other.

Sadly, as I grow older... I guess my lifestyle and thinking were perhaps too different and I slowly drifted or might have even chose to... With all the crazy partying and unhealthy habits I had back then, I guess many of them back then weren't too supportive of the kind of life I've chose. Now that I'm finally older and much more matured, I have nothing but regrets about how I was like back then. Plus I was so stubborn and hot-headed back then, I won't even listen to my own mum. Sigh.

If I had one more chance, I would have studied really hard then and not repeat that year in AHS... I would go to JCs like them and be in the local universities too. Unlike now, when I'm completing poly but totally clueless on what's my next step.

Alright, I'm gonna stop here cos to write everything about them would be really hard cos there's too much amazing stuffs to say about them and all the wonderful moments...

Sigh. Supposed to be a happy post but I feel teary now. I love my friends and I wish them all the best in their future. I'll never forget 2go4eva.

I'll never forget those days.

Lastly, I would like to thank someone for being the best friend I could ever have. Someone from the same amazing class but who till today, is still around me and who has always been there for me.

If there was a time to say I've been truly happy then it would no doubt be the year when I was 14.

My 21st

So I am officially an adult now and it feels really weird thinking about it. Looking back, I still have my 16th birthday entry in 2006. Can't believe how fast time has passed and many times, I still wish time could turn back to the days where I was still in my teens.

I remember when I was 15, I invited my 2G friends over to my house to celebrate. Something simple and mum cooked a few dishes.

When I was 16, I had a chalet. I remembered my Fish n Co colleagues also bought me a cake.

My 2G friends came to support me during a match on my 17th birthday and some of us went out later. I also met up with quite a couple of friends for dinner.

Did nothing much on my 18th cos was working my ass off for mum. Lewis was really sweet and surprised me with a cake though. (: Wished I had some kind of chalet or something.

On my 19th, I went Lunar to drink and opened one cannon.

Went to Lunar again on my 20th and opened two cannons. Was mad drunk and it was damn unglam. :(

So this year, I held my birthday at a really beautiful villa at Sentosa. Really appreciative to those who spared time to come cos I know it really isn't that accessible. Kinda wished I booked earlier cos all the ones at Pasir Ris was full. Wanna give a big thank you to my lovely friends!

Yay my very pretty girlfriends and me. Thanks for everything girls!!!

Anyway I love the villa! Wasn't exactly as big as I wished it could be but I had no money to book the two bedroom one so just sticked with the one bedroom one which was smaller. But still, it was great cos it has a pool and a really comfortable big bed!!! Enough space for us to eat and even bring a portable mahjong table to play!

The whole villa was so pretty after lining the pool with candles! I'll always remember this night. Miss the place so badly now!!!

So other than that, I still have a lot more photos but I'm too lazy to upload them all cos they are already on facebook! Other than the beautiful villa I stayed in, the resort also has an infinity pool and outdoor pool! Was really lots of fun with my friends. Especially with them jumping into the pool and catching up with my 2G girls. Thanks for making my 21st so memorable. (:

So it's another year

So far, I've been pretty good at keeping my resolutions last year. Though I've kinda given up on the losing weight part so I'll just take that away. Here are some other more achievable ones.

So here goes:

1. Find a new (part-time) job
2. Never start smoking again
3. Learn something new and to keep myself fit
4. Take up a third language course
5. Save up to a 5-digit sum

Ok, so 5 for me so far. Will be back to update if I can think of anymore.
